A class of ninth graders were shocked when they discovered their teacher had a YouTube video entitled ‘Gary Threesome Sex’ – after it appeared on a projector during his lesson.
Jose Rosario-Gonzales, 53, resigned from T.Dewitt Taylor Middle-High School in Volusia County, Florida, on Tuesday rather than face being fired.
According to officials, a parent of one of the students complained that the social studies teacher had his computer hooked up to a projector in his classroom, and scrolling through his YouTube videos, one called ‘Gary Threesome Sex’ appeared.
Several students’ written statements confirmed that the entire class saw the sex video’s title, reported WKMG.
‘Mr. Rosario was on YouTube, he scrolled through his videos and there was history videos except for one,’ a student wrote.
‘This was one was titled ‘Gay Threesome Sex.’ The whole class was saying ‘eww’ and ‘What is that doing on there?’ and he just kept scrolling and didn’t say anything.’
Rosario-Gonzales did not deny the incident although said he ‘did this on his own time, in the privacy of his home and it was never his intention to show students,’ school documents showed.
The ninth-grade teacher was informed on May 25 that if the allegations against him were substantiated it would lead to a recommendation of his termination.
He was put on three days unpaid leave while the incident was investigated.
School officials said there were several files of homosexual pornography on Rosario-Gonzales’s computer.
Rosario-Gonzales, who has taught for 12 years, chose to resign, said school authorities.
He had received a ‘satisfactory’ evaluation in 2009 and 2010 but his latest evaluation was not made available for confidentiality reasons, reported WKMG.
