If you’re looking to indulge your charitable side but don’t want to leave the comfort of your own home, a new startup called Benevidz can help you with that. There’s only one catch: you have to be okay with everyone in the entire world being able to see you naked. Cool? Cool.

The brainchild of two recent Colorado State University grads, Benevidz is an online webcam community where people can practice the old Internet pasttime of performing sex acts on webcam in order to raise money for charity. The site functions akin to other webcam porn enterprises: people pay money for access to a livestream of a man or woman stripping, and can cough up more money to get them to perform specific acts. Only with Benevidz, a portion of that money goes to the charity of your choice (Benevidz says they already have 7 “reputable charity organizations” who have agreed to participate).

That means that while performers are technically doing the work to raise money for charity, the watchers at home are the ones who are coughing up the donation dough. Or, as the Benevidz tagline puts it, “Lend[ing]a helping hand.”

Benevidz is currently crowdfunding on Rockethub and to date has only raised $500 of its $15,000 goal. But its mission should appeal to even the laziest among us: you are literally being asked to masturbate for charity. It doesn’t get much more self-serving than that.
