Oxnard teacher accused of being porn star put on leave

An Oxnard middle school teacher was put on administrative leave after she was accused of appearing in at least one pornographic video, district officials said.

District officials have not released the teacher’s name and she has not been terminated, KTLA reported.

They placed the teacher on leave on Monday while the allegations are being investigated, Oxnard School District Supt. Jeff Chancer told KTLA Tuesday.

The investigation began Friday when students approached administrators at Richard B. Haydock Intermediate School and told them they had seen a female teacher in a pornographic video.

Administrators tried to verify the students’ claims that one of the teachers was a porn star, but couldn’t find any evidence that the rumors were true, the Ventura County Star reported. They sent an email to staff members saying the rumors were unfounded.

Other teachers subsequently came forward and showed administrators the video on a smartphone, allowing them to tentatively confirm that the educator — who teaches science to seventh- and eighth-graders — appeared in an X-rated video, Chancer said.

“Maybe it’s not a crime as far as the penal code is concerned, but we feel it’s a crime as far as moral turpitude is concerned,” Chancer said.

Haydock staffers also sent a letter home with students Tuesday explaining the situation to parents.

“It has been alleged that one of our teachers is depicted in at least one pornographic video and possibly others on the Internet,” the letter reads.

It continues: “These allegations do not involve any Oxnard School District students… We are asking teachers to discourage the children from searching for and/or visiting these inappropriate sites.
“We ask that you be particularly vigilant over the next few days with respect to the Internet content being accessed by your child on his or her telephone or other Internet-ready device,” the letter stated.
