The May 2 public premiere of the independent film “Marriage 2.0” in San Francisco will feature the conclusion of a spanking contest between two local sexuality non-profits. A percentage of proceeds from the film screening and fundraiser benefit St. James Infirmary for sex workers and the Center for Sex & Culture. Additionally, ticket purchasers have been able to donate extra to either organization, which will result in the director of the non-profit raising the most money spanking their counterpart on stage.

The spanking contest will feature Carol Queen, founder of the Center for Sex and Culture, and Cyd Nova, program director for St. James Infirmary.

“There will be no losers in this competition since both nonprofits are good friends and happy to share the wealth and the spanks!” Queen said. “We at the Center for Sex & Culture are so grateful to be able to participate in this great event.”

“We are so excited to see this movie, the result of the hard work of people in our beloved community of sex workers,” Nova added. “St James Infirmary, which has provided healthcare and advocacy for the adult industry for 15 years, and I are excited to be a beneficiary of this event along with CSC, our sisters in promotion of a world without shame of people’s sexualities.”

The “Marriage 2.0” screening will be held at 7 p.m. at the Victoria Theatre, 2961 16th St. The evening will begin with Red Carpet arrivals, a VIP party, and the screening at 8:30 p.m. A question-and-answer session will follow featuring Nina Hartley, India Summer, Ryan Driller, Mickey Mod, Dylan Ryan, Andre Shakti, sex educator Chris Ryan, director Paul Deeb, and writer Magnus Sullivan. Author and cast member Carol Queen will moderate the Q&A.

General admission tickets cost $15 and are available to purchase through EventBrite.com. VIP tickets are $40. To purchase either, click here.

“This contest is a fun way for people to get involved in something meaningful and worthwhile for two amazing charities,” said “Marriage 2.0” screenwriter and producer Magnus Sullivan. “We wanted to go above and beyond merely donating a percentage of proceeds from the event to these charities, which is why we’ve been encouraging online ticket purchasers to designate extra, if they are able. The idea came from our very own Prince$$ Pandora.”

The Center for Sex & Culture provides judgment-free education, cultural events, a library/media archive, and other resources to offer factual information on issues of public policy and public health.

St. James Infirmary provides free, compassionate and nonjudgmental healthcare and social services for sex workers (current or former) of all genders and sexual orientations in the San Francisco area.

The screening marks the film’s public premiere. For tickets to the “Marriage 2.0” screening, click here. To visit the screening’s Facebook Event Page, click here. Attendees must be 21 or older.

The film includes sexual performances mixed with dramatic narrative as it follows a couple (India Summer and Ryan Driller) on their search for personal freedom, as well as emotional and sexual bliss within the context of an honest and committed modern relationship.

The film has received much acclaim in recent weeks, earning Movie of the Year honors at Feminist Porn Awards in Toronto on April 17. In addition, the un-rated version of the film, which received the Best Narrative award at New York’s CineKink Film Festival last month, premiered February 26 on AdamAndEveTV.com, an Adam & Eve property powered by GameLink.com.

About LionReach Productions:

LionReach Productions is the brainchild of Magnus Sullivan, a screenwriter and producer from the Bay Area. It earned star India Summer the 2012 AVN Awards Best Actress trophy. “Marriage 2.0,” Sullivan’s first film produced by LionReach, exponentially expands on the scope of “An Open Invitation,” making the Bay Area itself a character. “San Francisco is at the center of a relationship revolution,” Sullivan says, “And we aim to capture that in our movies.”  For more information on LionReach Productions’ new release, “Marriage 2.0,” visit http://marriage2point0movie.com.
