July 3, 2015 / Pahrump, Nevada – Las Vegas-area adult vacation resort and legal brothel Sheri’s Ranch was featured in a new documentary for VICE.
Entitled “The New Era of Canadian Sex Work”, the multi-platform news and entertainment juggernaut delved into Canada’s new prostitution law, where the documentarians interview policy makers, law enforcement, sex workers, and clients in order to frame a comprehensive picture of C-36, and gain a better understanding of the law’s impact on Canadian sex workers, who appear not to be in favor of the law and would prefer alternative legislation.
The video story was narrated and hosted by Lowell, a pop singer and former stripper.
Lowell and the VICE crew visited Sheri’s Ranch and interviewed Madam Dena and two of her courtesans, Destini and Allissa, to learn about how the regulated, legal Nevada sex industry functions, and to compare and contrast the experiences of Nevada’s legal prostitutes with sex workers operating under the new Canadian law.
The documentary suggests that Nevada brothels like Sheri’s Ranch may offer a viable option for Canadian lawmakers.
“While American sex culture seems more repressed than many other cultures, the ranch here flips those preconceived notions on its head, and welcomes you to indulge in mostly whatever it is you want.” Lowell said in the video, referring to Sheri’s.
“It also operates under the law, giving the girls a safe environment to work under – a business model that could be copied in Canada.”

Located in Pahrump, Nevada, sixty miles west of Las Vegas, Sheri’s Ranch is Nevada’s first and only full-service legal sex resort. The Ranch was purchased by former Chicago homicide detective Chuck Lee in 2001 and was remodeled into a fantasyland of bungalows and specialty rooms with a variety of titillating themes.
With a hotel and restaurant on the property, Lee and his exemplary staff have taken great care to maintain a resort playground with the clients’ safety, privacy, and satisfaction in mind.
