With heavy hearts, we are saddened to share that for the past few months we’ve been dealing with an escalating situation involving a former client, which this week resulted in direct and violent threats against The Cupcake Girls’ founder, Joy Hoover and her two year old daughter. At the advice of our attorney, we contacted the police, who saw fit to also involve the FBI.
Since our founding, The Cupcake Girls has welcomed opportunities to engage in open dialogue around how to best serve the needs of the adult entertainment community, however intimidation, harassment, and threats will never have any place in a healthy, well-intended, or constructive conversation. We have always backed our clients as they stood against harassment or violence directed at themselves and the adult entertainment community, and now, for the first time, we stand shoulder to shoulder with The Hoover Family as they face threats of violence themselves.
While shaken by this turn of events, both Joy personally, and The Cupcake Girls as an organization, remain committed to our work with unwavering dedication. We will continue to support and partner with our clients as they pursue their goals and dreams, and will do so in accordance with state and federal laws and with the utmost commitment to confidentiality and professionalism, just as we always have.
