Amina Axelsson, a Swedish stripper living in Spain, is an animal rights activist for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The crowd at the almost empty La Malagueta arena in Malaga cheered at her efforts even though she did not get near the bull.
The 41-year-old said: “No animal should have to endure an agonising and unnecessary death for the enjoyment of a crowd. “It was a symbolic act to show that we are thinking about the bull. “I was nervous about doing it.” “But more nervous about police than the bull. “They can prosecute or fine me, be my guest. “I’m still going to stand up for what I believe in.”
The self-proclaimed “adult model” was arrested for her stunt. She has previously painted herself with fake animal blood and marched naked through Pamplona as part of a protest.
