Apparently there is a fake Twitter “verified badge” email going around to the gals with a large following.
Here’s what Gabi Paltrova received yesterday:
Gabi says that as soon as she submitted the information the hacker changed the email and password associated with the account, then changed the name of the account — obviously after her 71,000 followers.
High-end follow accounts are getting sold for upwards of $1000 per account and others are getting ad rates for tweets.
If you are eligible for a verified icon it won’t happen out of the blue…There is a process you go through that involves actually getting verified ..not an email.
