Clover gets suspended sentence

LAS VEGAS – Ex-adult performer Clover, has been found guilty of felony Battery with Substantial Bodily Harm, and sentenced to probation by a Clark County, Nev court. The charges stem from his Jan. 24 attack on his then-girlfriend, adult star Morgan Lee during the annual AVN Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE).

At a sentencing hearing on Oct. 12., District Court Judge Douglas E. Smith handed down a suspended sentence and ordered probation for the repeat offender.

In June, in Las Vegas Justice Court, Clover pleaded ‘no contest’ to a charge of domestic battery (1st). Clover, real name Casey Purser, was sentenced to time served for the beating, but that was not the end of the case. Clover was also charged with felony possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), and the resolution of that charge, as well as a newly-added felony charge of (non-domestic) battery with substantial bodily harm, will was initiated when the case was “bound over” to Clark County District Court.

Clover was arraigned on the new charges on June 18.

As TRPWL reported in June,

Should the district court judge accept the plea arrangement negotiated between Clover’s attorney and the prosecutors, Clover will be placed on probation. The consequences of violating that probation, however, will be severe.

According to the District Court’s official minutes of Clover’s sentencing hearing, Monday:

Deft. PURSER ADJUDGED GUILTY of BATTERY WITH SUBSTANTIAL BODILY HARM (F).

COURT ORDERED, in addition to the $25.00 Administrative Assessment fee, a $150.00 DNA Analysis fee including testing to determine genetic markers, and $3.00 DNA Collection fee.

Deft SENTENCED to a MINIMUM of NINETEEN (19) MONTHS and a MAXMUM of FORTY-EIGHT (48) MONTHS in the Nevada Department of Corrections [NDC), SUSPENDED; placed on PROBATION for an indeterminate period not to exceed THREE (3) YEARS.

In addition to all the standard conditions of probation, Deft is to comply with the following SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

1. Comply with an imposed curfew set by Parole & Probation (P&P).

2. Complete any counseling as deemed necessary by P&P.

3. Complete the DNA assessment and pay the $150.00 fee to the Clark County Clerk.

4. No alcohol or illegal drugs in your system, car, or house, and violation of illegal drugs also includes the abuse of prescription drugs.

5. Submit to random alcohol and drug testing.

6. Pay a $3,000.00 fine or complete 300 hours of community service work.

Court advised Deft. that probation would be revoked if he received any type of technical violation. Court further advised if defendant successfully completed probation he may withdraw his plea and plead to a gross misdemeanor.

Revocation of probation would mean Clover would be remanded to the Nevada Department of Corrections for a term in state prison.

Clover Gets Suspended Sentence, Probation in Las Vegas Battery/Cocaine Case

Background

In an exclusive interview with TRPWL, Lee stated that Clover “beat the shit out of” her at their hotel in January 2015, and she pressed every possible charge against him.

The couple was in Las Vegas to attend the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, and were staying at Planet Hollywood along with fellow performer Hope Howell.

Lee told TRPWL that Clover also had hit her and choked her earlier, on Friday night, before the LATATA ‘White Party’. She “told a few people,” at the event, but did not file any report.

Clover was arrested and held on $8,000 bail, which he posted through a bail bond company on Jan. 25.

Lee shared photos of injuries she suffered at Clover’s hands.

Clover was formally charged with misdemeanor domestic battery and felony drug possession in Las Vegas Justice Court on Jan. 27.

Clover has a lengthy arrest record, and recently served a jail stint in Los Angeles.

He was released from jail in Los Angeles on January 7, having been remanded into custody on Nov. 17, 2014 in a Van Nuys courtroom. Clover had been given the choice of either accepting a plea deal or standing trial on charges stemming from a May 2014 beating of his then-girlfriend, makeup artist Jennifer Jaen. In addition to jail time, Clover was sentenced to 3 years probation, and one year of Domestic Violence classes

On January 30, while in court for a restitution hearing related to the May 2014 domestic battery of Jaen, Clover was taken into custody and jailed for violating the terms of his probation. (Having criminal charges filed against him in Las Vegas constituted a violation of the terms of his probation.)

With this latest sentence of probation, the merry-go-round continues…
